Back at the Bonnie and Clyde Beer Barn in Arcadia, Louisiana

Back at the Bonnie and Clyde Beer Barn in Arcadia, Louisiana

It’s becoming a tradition to stop at the Bonnie and Clyde Beer Barn in Arcadia, Louisiana on our way to and from Colorado and south Alabama. Top ten reasons to stop in Arcadia:

10. The middle school students are talented artists and the town promotes their art on billboards.

Congratulations, Heather Cox! Great anti-drug message and artwork.

9. The daiquiris are great. I recommend the Peaches and Cream.

8. You might get to peek into the beer cooler, or what I think Ryc would consider “heaven in a freezer.” All kinds of great beer.

7. A drive through beer place that really looks like a barn deserves your support simply for the whimsical genius of the concept. Plus, it could fit our truck and trailer – with the dogs, chickens, and quail – on the last trip – not an easy feat for any place.

6. You can pick up fried chicken right next door to Bonnie and Clyde’s Beer Barn at Church’s, refill your gas at the Shell station, and then have a picnic.

5. They also sell hunting licenses, fishing licenses and deer corn at the Shell station. All that, a refill on gas , fried chicken – and daiquiris and beer right next door?  This is what we think of as a great neighborhood 🙂 – and certainly a terrific stop on any road trip.

4. There’s plenty of open space for your dogs to run off some energy while you picnic.

. #1 reason to visit Arcadia: the people.

Everyone is so nice. We have yet to meet an unfriendly person. I don’t think anyone is grouchy in Arcadia. Thank you in particular, Gin, for making this visit a great one and being so helpful when we visited the Beer Barn!

Thank you, Gin, for being so lovely and making us feel so welcome!
